![]() there is a time to be ballsy. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 today' image may seem like i've grabbed the wrong ball. not to worry, just a subtle reminder that after all spring is approaching and so is what was once america's past time (now it's calling the president a socialist) baseball will be back in lexington with the extremely entertaining Legends...i encourage you to make attending a few games a priority...i'm going to this year dammit. but that isn't my point. it's more about the 'balling-up' we need to do this week in terms of getting a health care bill through. now is the time to push hard, hate the haters and do what you were elected to do democrats. the time for worrying about the next election, believe me you ain't gonna win if healthcare is what will make the difference in your election, you have already lost. hey ben chandler, i'm talking to you. so do what is right for a change. sure, i'm disappointed, i wanted more, i wanted a single payer system. i wanted profit centers and insurance companies out of what is a basic human right--that the world's strongest country could and should provide to its citizenry. we can socialize corn growing, mortgage banking and war contracting but we can't allow a poor person to get a check-up without worry of a future of gulags and higher taxes. but once it is passed, then we can get to improving it and making it actually work and getting rid of some of cost problems that hamper actual reform in health care delivery. i thought i was sick of politics under bush, well, i tell you, i am even sicker now of the losers (yes, those on the right you fucking lost, you had your chance at ruining the country, you almost did it) acting like they represent what 'americans' want. no, you really don't. you represent the part of america that doesn't want a black president, doesn't want to pay for anything more than a lottery ticket and a mountain dew and hates itself for allowing itself to become so fucking fucked. why protest health care? really, is it about health care, it can't be. why aren't the teabags marching down Wall Street? if you're so pissed about your finances why not demand financial regulation and reform, why not scream to get back the TARP money? instead it's about a drop in the bucket amount of money (on the grand scale) to help people get insurance to have primary care? really, you think this is 'government takeover of health care'--i hate that framing of the argument by the way, as if the government is some bloated, punch-drunk, hulking entity we should all fear--no, that's rush limbaugh, not the government. so those on the left, no more excuses. grow a pair, show a pair. balls. peewee. Holga. Ilford Delta 400. still some Blurfects left. if you want one, please get yourself one. Comment (0) | Permalink |
