no checking the polls every couple hours. no gaffe watching. no looking out for farm animals wearing maybelline. no more cringing from the words 'my friends,' or 'by golly' or 'maverick.' sure there's the fun of watching from afar as the repubs scramble to throw each other the bus, as the apologists choose camps and align. yes, oh yes, there are many who are palin defenders, many who think mccain just wasn't 'conservative' enough. that batch that thinks conservative means godly. fox news is eating their own, rush and hannity are screaming to go more hardline (please do!) but bashing her and her followers, although quite fun, really isn't edgy, dare i say, 'mavericky' at this point. those paying attention knew what a huge-jun-gous mistake it was, hell--dangerous--really for all of us. but we can read about it in the articles, even books sure to come...

what i am saying is that as good as victory feels, there's now a hollowness that follows for the political news junkie. but maybe i can now shoot a couple more frames instead bitching aloud about the campaign...but the beauty of the world is, there's always something to bitch about...and as i said i would do, celebrate, i will, the victory. then once president obama takes the job, it's back to judging him by his actions in the role. i have great hope for him, he has given me--that but i ain't much for blind hope this late in my life...

so let's just sigh and wait...there's news happening right now i bet...somewhere.
