anger--there's a side of me that really loves it. in music, in art, in journalism, even in day to day life, on occasion, it serves a purpose for those on both sides of it. even though this might seem like an obviously simple point, many persons still have a deep reluctance to grasp it: anger is a common human emotion. we all feel it. and we feel it more often than we like to admit. but there is a a clear distinction between anger and just feeling hurt or irritated. we all feel hurt or irritated when someone or something obstructs our needs or desires. anger, though, in its technical sense refers to the desire to “get even with”—that is, to take revenge on—the cause of the hurt. why am i giving you a psychology 101 lesson on anger...?

well, a couple nights ago in the presidential debate stated 'the American people are angry...they're fed up and they're angry.' not that big of a deal, he's been telling us how angry we are for months now but what is significant is that he chose to open his final chance to talk to Americans, to deliver something with some meat, some resonance, some meaning, yes, some hope even...instead, we're reminded how angry we all are. the short-sided, smaller government, blame washington, tax-cut, liberal-socialist branding, same old tired message was all is all mcPalin could muster up as his final 'fight' for the presidency. a tiny, little man--bitter, bragadocious and burdened with nothing new to offer, nothing new to say and without anything but fear, agitation and a hint of racism to run out the last 3 weeks on, johnny pissed away the final bit of valor, heroics and maverickness by winking, blinking, eye-rolling and mugging like a grimacing old coot. he showed us who was angry, it ain't us, it's him. he wants revenge for being on the wrong side of history, his day is over. sad really.

the lengths someone will lower oneself to in pursuit of the highest office in the world. in the same way the bush administration will be judged as the worst in history, it will be hard for mcSame to outrun history as his campaign drags ground, stutter stops and leaves nothing but dingleberries for true conservatives to build upon as they go forward beyond the hijacking of their party by the christianista. maybe even more frightening is there are some who see palin as the future of the rethuglican party, if that is the case, i surely welcome the battles to come but hopefully the more intellectual will move beyond the history of atwater and rove and back to buckley, will and goldwater...

but i can't care about that, i am more interested in what an obama presidency will mean for us. obama, at age 46 is only a few years older than me, for my generation, he is truly 'our president.' out with that which is old, old thinking, old fears, old wars, out with it. let's bring this home, let's put obama in the hizouse, for all our sakes, let's get him the tools to change things, vote democrat, let's get that majority, let's get out of iraq, let's get healthcare reform, let's tape up the constitution, let's repair our damaged rep. let's shine this turd back it's original glory...or at least remove our heads from our asses and step up to the plate as more than a bankrupt, war-mongering batch of simpletons...
