Wednesday, November 07, 2007 excuse my post-election banter for a moment. i am tickled with the fact the democrats took back the governor's mansion here in kentucky. fuckin'-a, we actually elected a evangelical doctor 4 years ago that ran on cleaning up the capital who got caught in a hiring scandal in his first year that made the whole GOP turn their fair-weathered, white and wrinkled backs on him. good bye and good riddens. in a last ditch effort yesterday, his people hired Pat Boone, yes, that Pat Boone, to do a phone message accusing the democratic opponent of being controlled by 'the homosexual lobby' and that he would 'turn the bluegrass into San Francisco!' typical fear mongering 'values' talk meant to get the bible thumpers in an uproar. embarrassing really but what do you expect from a group of politicians more interested in keeping power than actually doing anything. my kid spent two hours yesterday morning working the phone banks for the dems, not campaigning, just reminding people to get their asses to the polls. yes, i've spawned a raging, liberal activist. well, raging is a little strong, raging implies he moves beyond a snail's pace. but his heart is generally in the right place...the left place. boy blur.
