 suburbia redux. Tuesday, November 06, 2007 nothing brings an air of melancholy to a scene quite like a early 70s ranch starter home. i'm not sure why exactly, i guess the reality of my age comes a rushing when i ponder these older neighborhoods. how in the hell did families live this close together younger people must ask? these brick tubes were about $20K, now 20K won't cover a bathroom remodeling...i sound like my papaw. suburbia--i'm rambling about it now but then we were too poor to aspire even to that dream. at the door.
