what i find alarming as i get older is how nothing i say really matters to the people who actually give thought to what matters. i mean 'the kids.' music sales, movie sales, clothing sales, none of that shit is dependent upon what i think. no wonder as you get older you sound like a crusty old fart who just lives in the past. the decent new music sounds old, say like pissed jeans or even springsteen. the former sounds like old filthy subpop of the late 80s, early 90s, the latter sounds like anthemic r&r of the late 80s, early 90s. 'r' rated comedies are back...thank god, but are you prepared for porky's 5? and clothes, in the neverending recycling of fashion, for men ,its eisenhower (yes, ike-style) again, for the 3rd time and for women, hell, for women, i couldn't tell you, it continues to change to fast for this dude, is it wide legs, skinny legs, no legs, frag, i don't know? i hate to say it, but seriously, it was probably better the first time around no matter what the cultural item of discussion. but, like i said, it doesn't matter what i think. i'm old when it comes to consumerism...hell, i'm old no matter what it comes to.
