it struck me as odd today as the story about the earthquake which struck Kashiwazaki city in Japan makes sort of page 3 news as the US media carries on about Beckham, John Edwards hair and da war. ol' mother nature (not jesus or the lord or the bible or the flag) has a way of reminding us how quickly she can eff some shite up. right now the death toll rests at 9...but there are over 13,000 homeless...but more alarming is the whole 'oh heck, is that radioactive waste in those barrels?! run for the hills!' aspect of this catastrophe. lucky i guess only 100 or so barrels of 'low-level' radioactive waste was involved. of course, Japan's nuke energy program has in the past been more than slightly corrupt when it comes to reporting accidents and subsequent cover-ups. i'm not sure how if barrels leaked waste into the sea, they can quickly say there was no environmental damage...this news came, of course, later, more than sooner which rightfully has caused more than a little concern.

sushi anyone?

spongebob clean-up. Minolta Instant Pro. Polaroid 990 film outdated, of course.
