 don't walk on by. Thursday, February 08, 2007 Got my email today from the SoHo Photo Gallery. My friend, confidant and super shooter Warren H. took the top honors at this year's Krappy Kamera Kompetition. I've mentioned it here before, but something like this needs mentioning again. If you are in the NYC area, the opening reception is Tuesday, March 6 and the show runs through the last day of March. Get on up to it. And c'mon people, love on W a bit, this is a cool thang. Speaking of cool thangs. I got the new Light Leaks yesterday. WOW! New paper, great reproduction and a stand-out batch of images, articles and interviews. The best ever really and I can't take credit for the gallery this time, that goes to my gal pal Laura Burlton who was this issue's photo editor. If you don't subscribe, you seriously should, it is a visual treat and I am not just saying that because Mike Barnes is a stand-out human. Get Light Leaks...it's Blurfect. Oh, the Treadly Speaking article is about self-portraiture, you'll dig it. If you need something to relieve some of your yuppie-guilt. You can, donate to my kid's trip to Costa Rica and while doing that get a little piece of original 'art' for your trouble... and getting an opportunity to win a Rollei TLR while giving a kid some of your hard earneds is kinda cool too. The 2007 Photobloggies are here...nominations are open...Who will win and what will be left of them. I'm tooting my horn so back up it could get messy...yes, I made it into JPG's part of the We Are All Photographers Now show. I surmise it is a pretty big deal given there were only 20 prints picked from the thousands of JPG submissions. so yes, I am humbled, which is something for me to say. I'm rarely humbled...cuz I'm an asshole, you know how I roll. Buy JPG if you don't, your a goddamned creative photographer aren't you?
