Wednesday, December 06, 2006 In the never ending quest to somehow repay myself for the time spent on trying to create art, I picked up a little freelance work from my new pals at Cricket Press. A cold call really after Brian came to Toy Polloy. He is working on a CD packaging project for a singer-songwriter named Kevin Elliot. Kevin needed some images for his release and after some phonegotiation, we hooked up and and wasted a few rolls in the old Mark L and Holga. Some candids, some set pieces of Kevin walking the streets with his guitar case and knapsack and other rockyrolly desolate dude shit. His new songs were recorded by big L.A. producer Luke Ebbin (Bon Jovi, All American Rejects) and mixed by Dave Way (Foo Fighters, John Doe, Shakira, Paul McCartney). But I did get a few good frames that the clients are psyched about. And I really like the work that the Cricketeers do so...After the latest Light Leaks featured some incredible band photos I thought, what the heck, I can whore out my services for a local bloke...so I did.
