![]() Let me be a barker for a sec! Friday, September 01, 2006 Beginning September 9 and continuing through October 8 is the stellar Photography NOW show being held at the lovely Loudon House gallery, home of the Lexington Art League. I'm telling you that not only because it is great to have a show of this caliber going on in town, I'm as happy as Katie Couric's banker to have 3 prints hanging! There were around 800 submissions from nearly 200 artists from all around the U.S. Only 89 pieces made the show. Photography NOW was juried by Sam Abell, National Geographic Society Photographer-in-Residence. Abell is an incredible photographer, diarist and speaker. I have to be honest, I was a little surprised to make the show. We are talking a living legend looking at krappy toy camera shots from me...a little intimidating to say the least. Sam Abell is giving a talk on September 23 at 4 p.m. I'm looking forward to it. If you come to the show on September 22, it is part of the Fourth Friday events that Loudon House is famous for...there's beer, a band, food and photos...nuff said. win a pooh.
