![]() wrap your head around this... Wednesday, August 09, 2006 Richard Feachem, executive director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria, said research has revealed the protective effect of circumcision against HIV. What has been referred to as 'the undkindest cut'--male circumcision--lowers risk of HIV infection. Removing the foreskin (guys, I hear you screamin', 'Tread, it is at least a five or six skin!') is thought to harden the glans (head) of the penis, making it less permeable to viruses (i.e. a battle-tested, German-style helmet capable of protecting your little soldier from insurgents). Research conducted in 2005 showed the transmission of HIV from women to men during sex was reduced by 60% if the men were circumcised. So I guess the take-home lesson here is if you ain't gonna wrap it...snip it. Magnolia. Holga, Kodak 400VC. Comment (13) | Permalink |
