A really big pickle jar, one you might could fit at least three of the biggest danged pickles you’ve ever seen inside of it. A big, honking pickle jar, alright? So you’ve got yourself a mental image of a pickle jar. Now, put some large rocks in it. Put in as many as you possibly can. Stop when you think it is full. Make sure it’s full, try to put a couple more in anyway. Now you’ve got a full pickle jar that you can’t fit anything else into, or do you? Now, put some pebbles in. Put as many peebles as you can, fill it up good. Now, take your full jar of big rocks and pebbles and take some sand and...you guessed it, fill that jar until you can’t possibly fit anymore sand into it...you ain't done, now add some water. Have you caught on to what you were doing? We all have many large priorities in our life, represented by the large rocks. We also have things that we enjoy doing, those are like the pebbles. We have other things we have to do, can't get out of, like the sand. Finally, we have things that simply clutter up our lives and get in everywhere, that is the damned water. None of these things are 'bad' things. After all, life is about all of these things—from large priorities to times of selfish fun—we need this shit. This pickle jar simply needs balance to set on the shelf properly. You make time for everything, and everything simply fits well where it is supposed to fit.
