 ...sometimes it makes me wonder how i keep from going under. Friday, April 28, 2006 Pennsylvanians, prepare to carry-out! A Domino's delivery dude used a car to transport corpses to funeral homes for 'work-ups' when he wasn't using the ride to bring cardboard pie and cheesy bread to pizza lovers to tired to cook. Last Friday, a Lower Southampton Township Police Department officer pulled over a sweet-assed 1993 Buick after noticing the vehicle did not have a required inspection sticker. William Bethel, 24, was also driving with a suspended license, so cops informed him that they were goign to have to take his vehicle and impound it until he straightened this mess out. According to the police report, when officers began taking an inventory of the station wagon for the record, they noticed a stretcher in the rear of the vehicle (along with other garbage and some soggy, wet clothing) where 'pizzas were sitting to be delivered.' Bethel explained that when he finished delivering Domino's pizzas, 'he transports deceased bodies in the same vehicle for a funeral home.' A police check with local health officials determined that the use of the car for both deliveries did not violate county ordinances. Bethel was not arrested, but faces $400 in fines for driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle without an inspection certificate. The station wagon is registered to Carl Delia, owner of a removal service that delivers dead bodies to Philadelphia-area funeral homes. No word on whether the pizzas in the back were ever delivered or if they were later than 30 minutes and therefore, free...or what the standard tip was from the funeral home upon receiving a corpse or if that tip was nullified if Bethel 'forgot the Pepsi' but did come back with it.
