Leaving the murder.

Leaving the murder.
Saturday, November 19, 2005
On Thursday, an extraordinary congressman, former Marine Drill Sergeant and decorated Vietnam veteran, Jack Murtha D-Pa. spoke out on the war in Iraq. It was obvious he didn't come to this declaration lightly. He spoke his mind and spoke his heart out of love for his country and support for the military and the U.S. troops. Of course, no fucking sooner had the words left his lips, than the Right was at the ready with a vicious assault on both his character and his patriotism...and by men, whom the closest they have ever been to gunfire is the business end of a blowdryer. In little more than 24 hours, Dennis Hastert R-Ill. (who went as far to say Murtha was a coward) and Republicans decided to put the question to the House. Democrats wisely took the air out of the sails of these assholes by just voting with them instead of against them which allowed their disgraceful cries of 'We will not retreat' to have little resonance beyond their idelogical cronies...and the stupid Americans who are ducking the truth. It really is time to think about how to bring 'em home. We are smarter than this.
